And it's been quite the pleasure/refreshingly new. Between the little get togethers they host or the same at our place, I've been making some new friends and having a drink/smoking a spliff with them. It's not all about that. My whole point is that it's a different crowd for sure, some cool hipsters and I hope they don't take offense to that. But the whole atmosphere is just more free spirited. Kicking it with new black people can be uptight cause everybody's too cool. For example: Get togethers with like 15 black people and I'll probably only speak to half of them before the night is over. but a room with like 15 white people and I'll probably shake hands with all of them at one point of time in the night. My favorite thing thus far about hanging with not black people (specifically white) is putting on some fucking Edward Sharpe, Iron and Wine, CocoRosie, Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver or other alternative rock/folk/indie music and motherfuckers are riding with it. I love that. I think they were a little surprised in my choice of tunes. Anyways. here's a few pics from this past week.
