A lot of us, myself included, don’t realize the world we’re living in. If you are a wealthy white European/American man with strong biceps and beautiful blue eyes, you may be able to get away with and disregard what a feminist is and what they’re all about because it’s understood that you never had or will have to be faced with oppression. But for the rest of us of different races, ethnicity/nationalities, gender, sexual orientation, religions, and any other sort of cultural background from both nation and worldwide, feminism pertains to you. We all make the mistake that feminism can be quickly summed up to the generalization of angry/manly, husky type middle-aged white woman who strongly want to protest and challenge the under-estimated low standards of the theory, achievements, and power of women deliberated by men and the self-appointed authority they’ve given themselves. This is actually pretty true, but conclusively that only covers a small branch of goals hoped to be reached. First, feminists are both women and men. Secondly and overall, the fight to end oppression isn’t just for white women, minority women, or women at all. Feminism is the movement for social, political, and economical equality of women and men alike. These status quos developed and enforced by cultural watchdogs are pinning the very essence of humanity and it’s entirety to the walls and on the ground. The objective is to tear down the walls OUR world has corrupted.
I wonder if this made sense.
Yes this made sense, to me. The perception of feminist kinda reminds me of the perception of today’s black/latino civil rights leaders. There is some truth behind how they are viewed. But there is so much more behind them and what they are fighting for.
