Woke up this morning in Nacogdoches, Texas.

You see, I didn't plan this. My new awesome friends Morgan and Karli gave word that they were going last night and invited me. After a few phone calls, I quickly went home to pack a bag and here I am now. Nacogdoches is definitely not how I left it. SoO many of my friends have since left...My little posse of boys, half of them are gone. My college bff isn't here, neither. It's a very different environment without them. HOWEVER, Kim is here! Jasmine is too! You may not know them, but just know that those girls took me under their wing last year. Others like Jontae and Nic, it makes me sucha happy girl to see them.

I leave Sunday so I'll be chilaxin meanwhile... catching up and story telling. I'll keep up to blogging.

farewell.

side note: My cheeks are fat as fuck man.. pfft

Marilyn and Ella

Marilyn Monroe was a big supporter of the Civil Rights Movement. Marilyn was a big Ella Fitzgerald fan, however, the Mocambo nightclub, the most popular nightclub of that time, refused to let Ella perform there because she was black. Marilyn told the owners that if they would let Ella perform, she would be there in the front row every time she was onstage. The club booked her and Marilyn didn’t miss one performance.

According to the great Ella Fitzgerald:
“I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt…it was because of her that I played the Mocambo, a very popular nightclub in the ’50s. She personally called the owner of the club, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him - and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status - that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman - a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it.”

Marilyn Monroe was such an honorable woman. You think she's just a pretty face, but if you read into her biography or interesting facts---> I went as far as her life story last year. You'll find a bunch of, "Well whadayaknow"'s //new respect.

Gigantic step forward, but it's not enough. What are we going to do about Gay Marriage.

I've got this big bag of respect I've been meaning to give to

Kristin and here's my chance. FOR A VERY LONG TIME. years I'm talkin' about. I've had my back taken by Kristin. No homo, I mean she's always had my back. Ever since I was an annoying rugrat like 9 years old--->fast-forward to middle school when I used to really reach for her friendship cause she was older than me---> fast-forward to High School when she became my teammate. When on more than one occasion, I went to her house for help with my math homework, FOOD, and advice/someone to talk to.. a good cry and a pat on the back.

She's just a year older than me, but she's always been a mentor. I'm completely satisfied with the person I am, but she leads a damn good example of someone I wouldn't mind being. 4years Varsity in 3 sports. Class president or some student government thing like that. Graduated top 10 or 15%...Carrying on to an extremely prestige texas college (on a scholarship) to major in Engineering... keeping herself in good shape/health. All the while staying edgy and knowing how to have a good time, no homo.

Yes, I've witnessed these things first hand; I grew up with this girl.. And seeing her continue to grow brings me much gratitude. Nowadays, she's running for U-Wide at UT. Of course she is. Whoever she's matched with will have a tough time going against her too. Team Kristin. I HAVE A FEW UT FOLLOWERS, I KNOW. YOU BETTER BE VOTING FOR HER. yeah. But it's getting late and I'm real tired-I'm ending this abruptly and going to bed. I just wanted to take the time to show-off my friend Kristin and all her hard-earned success because she deserves it.
